Design of molding made from engineering plastics |
| |
|
Three factors determine the quality of a plastic moulding: the properties of the moulding material (e.g. molecular weight, crystallinity, shrinkage, creep and ageing behaviour), processing parameters (melt and mould temperature, orientation, internal stresses) and moulding design (notch effect, restricted deformation). This brochure discusses these influencing factors and explains how, in the case of partially crystalline engineering thermoplastics, correct plastics design leads to mouldings with high serviceability.
